The 8am Brayne

365 days of self-reflection and inspiration questions designed for exploring trust, faith, and the invisible support available in life

Course Summary

"A question a day keeps the spirit in play"

365 self-reflection and inspiration questions, designed to guide you toward deeper self-awareness, a sense of connection with the unseen support around you, and an openness to new ways of perceiving and being in the world. These questions can be used daily for a year or revisited as needed.

Sign up to receive a question in your inbox every day at 8am UK time (somewhere after midnight for the East Coast, USA and somewhere in the evening time for those in New Zealand/Australia).

Whenever it is that you read it, the invitation is to take 3-12 minutes to reflect on your response - either there and then, or perhaps when you're making a lunchtime snack, or waiting for the kettle to boil. You can write, journal, talk or mutter, or simply mull it over for as long or as little as you like. For some, you might go so far as to keep a year's journal and write a page response to each question as they come (or a notes app on your phone) - a bit like 'morning pages' but with direction (if you know the work of 'The Artist's Way', you'll understand this reference - but you don't need to know this work to take part, and you certainly don't need to keep a journal if you don't want to!)

The point of these questions is to open your thinking to new avenues, geared towards those of us interested in the meta-questions of life, self-reflection and a curiosity in what it would be like to think differently or see things in a new light.

E.g. What if my trust in others was a mirror of the trust I have in myself?

Or, if I knew I was supported by an invisible force, how would I move differently in the world?

Sometimes confronting, always curious and mostly benign. join me on a year of questions with the 8am Brayne. This 'course' will send you an email a day and there are options to share your reflections and connect with others in the community who have also jumped in.

Day 1 will always be the day after you join, so our questions will all be different and your year may go longer than others, but together we can share and enjoy the curious insights and personal discoveries, however you choose to engage. Take it as far as you like, but mostly, no pressure to do anything other than read the subject line.

p.s. I created this for myself, to begin on my birthday. If you join me, great! And if you don't, I'll be doing it anyway so no hard feelings :-) A dream would be, though, to have 365 people taking part. Wouldn't that be cool?!

It's a by donation sort of thing, so feel free to share this with others and create your own groups around it if you wish. You might have friends, family or work/study colleagues you'd like to share an experience with, and this could be it! You'd all be very welcome. For those who wish, there are options to donate or subscribe, though no expectation to do so.

After this page and a first couple of waffly emails from me, the format is very simple and minimalist, allowing total space for you to be you and do you and share as much or as little as you wish.

Thanks for being interested in the ride!
